Dwain Chambers has been invited to try and break the Dutch 100m all-comers' record at a meeting in Uden in the Netherlands on 27 June.

The race is not organised by the Euromeetings group which represents 51 promoters and has banned drug offenders from competing in its events.

Chambers, who was handed a two-year suspension in 2003 after testing positive for THG, welcomed the offer.

"It's a good start for me and I'm grateful for their approach," he said.

"It gives me a race which comes at a good time of the season."

Stephan Kreij, spokesman for the event, said the British runner had "served his sentence".

"It is an accepted phenomenon that an athlete returns after suspension," added Kreij.

Chambers will challenge the current record of 10.08 seconds set by American Leroy Burrell in Hengelo in 1994.

"I'm not saying it will happen but, after their help, I'll be giving it everything I have," added Chambers, who is also set to attend a warm-weather camp in Florida in April.
